Better type of exterior door- wood, or fiberglass,?
I have a house built in the 1930’s and need to replace my wood front door. I have a quote for fiberglass-$930 includes installation. The top would be glass with the mini blinds between panes of glass. Could I just get a new wooden door since my front door is shielded from the rain by my front porch and the sun never shines on it either. Would I be ok with a wood door or should I just get the fiber glass one?
I have to custom order my door, the measurement are not the standard. 83″high

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Fiberglass is usually cheaper than a comparable wood door and is insulated. It’s stainable or paintable, and will last a long time if taken care of.
For a 1930’s house, though, I would probably install a wood door. It fits with the era of the house, and can also be stained or painted. I guess what it comes down to is personal preference. I have a fiberglass entry door, but I built my house 5 years ago, Hope this helps.
