The book is not true it is fiction, and Dan Brown stole a lot of ideas from the three guys who wrote, “Holy Blood Holy Grail”(i do not remember their names, but their book was very good) If you are interested in knowing more since davinci code then I would suggest looking into that book because it offers some interesting insight on the subject.There are other books on the subject about the bloodline.

The Knights Templar were an order that was to protect many christians that went to the holy land. They started think the whole banking process and the king of France did end up owing them money and they were forced by the pope to disband in 1307 and the grand masters were burned at the stake in october friday the 13th in 1307. This started the whole fear as some people mentioned in earlier posts. They were forced to disband because they had become rich and too powerful and had to be stopped. I have read a lot about them and watched shows about them.A few did manage to escape to scotland and few other places
To Liam they were not thugs, killers, rapists and cannibals of children to force christianity on people in the middle east. That is a popular misconception probably because history is painted by the victors and not the honest people. They were there to protect the holy land and people who went there. That probably was made up to make people not like them and support them.
