Can enlisted personnel whom are getting married have the saber arch ceremony? (Where other members of the service create an arch using swords and swat the new bride on the behind welcoming her into the ‘army’)?
Yes of course, the ceremony is just that, a ceremony. The enlisted members of all branches have a sword for NCO (non-commissioned officers) they are expensive to purchase, but usually can be borrowed for such things as parades, weddings etc. I was a Marine officer and spent 400.00 on the sword, and by the way Marine officers BUY there uniforms, so we had to buy the sword! I used mine for 2 parades and 5 weddings (LOL). My advice would be ask the groom if he has any buddies with the swords, or go to his Sgt Major and have him find you some. good luck! Semper Fi
