How many organizations other than the Masonic Lodge claim to be the heirs of the Knights Templar?
An academician friend told me that there are five organizations that sprang up in the late 18th. and early 19th. centuries that make spurious claims of decent from the Templars. I can only remember the Masons and one other that he mentioned (he said that only their capacity for drinking and wenching was a Templar tradition). I only remember on other organization that he named. Do you know what the 5 groups are?
I’m aware of a Middle Ages figure of speech “He drinks like a Templar”. They were famous for ignoring their vows.
There are no modern organizations that are descended from the Knights of the Temple (and none descended from guilds save those guilds still serving as social groups in London etc.) All the hocus-pocus is play acting on the part of the ring-bangers.
And Jacques De Moley had no connection with the club that bears his name.
