I have a brass footed bowl that is either chinese or japanese wher can I find out info on a piece like this?
the piece is 6 1/4 wide and 4 3/4 tall. It has 2 handles and 3 feet? if that is what they are called. It is marked on the bottem in either chinese or japanese. The out side of the bowl is etched and looks to be either a dragon or a snake as it has scales on the body. If anyone could steer me in the right direction on where I could research this piece more I would appreciate it greatly. This piece was given to me by my grandmother….I am not sure where she got it and she has since passed on. thanks for any insight.
have a look on ebay or go to your local library and pull some books on both chinese and japanese ceramics. or ask a chinese person if they recognise the writing or a japanese person or drop by an antique shop with it. best wishes.
