This steel is alright. It also depends on the sword and the design. Im gonna assume this is a katana or viking broadsword. Alright the term ” Damascus Steel” doesn’t exist. That term to all sword collectors means the weapon was either pattern welded which means using multiple pieces of metal and banging them into each other therefore this is pattern welding. If were talking katana the blade must be absolutly 100% Clay Tempered for it to have an authentic hamon and to be an authentic katana. Also damacus term for a katana is known as a hada or grain waves which Your Sword probably wont have because its being made of 1060 Spring Steel. But itll take hits. And just to let ya know this weapon every sword edge chips one way or the other
