What sword is this.?
A friend of mine gave me a kung fu sword thinking I would know how to use it but this sword is really weird. It is like a standard dao but the proportions of the blade are extremely ackward. Its about 6 in shorter than a normal dao, it has a ring on the end of the bottom of the hilt, the blade is wider, and the proportion of hilt to blade is about 40% hilt 60% blade. This blade has intrigued me and I would like to train under a new sword style but I need to know what kind of sword it is first. Anybody know.
Im not interested in learning an entire new art. I have my own styles I train under and Im not looking to change them. Im just looking to learn to use this sword.
